Job summary

dnata catering & retail Australia is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to oversee financial reporting, month-end processes, compliance, audit and taxation, while providing commercial insights and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead a Finance team across multiple sites.

The role requires CA/CPA or equivalent, strong IFRS knowledge, and a track record in complex, high-volume environments with leadership and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end month-end close and monthly management accounts.
• Deliver financial reporting, variance analysis, and insights to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity with reconciliations and journals.
• Oversee statutory compliance, taxation and audit.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and cost control.
• Mentor Finance team and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, reporting and controls.

About The Role

Join dnata catering & retail Australia as our newest Senior Group Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll oversee financial reporting, month‑end, compliance, audit and taxation, while providing commercial insights and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end month‑end close and preparation of monthly management accounts
• Deliver financial reporting, variance analysis and insights to senior stakeholders
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and oversee reconciliations and journals
• Manage statutory compliance, taxation and audit requirements
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and cost control
• Mentor and develop Finance team members, building capability and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, reporting and controls

About You

• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification
• Significant experience in a complex, high‑volume or multi‑site environment
• Strong technical accounting capability and a solid understanding of IFRS
• Proven experience across month‑end, financial reporting, audit and statutory compliance
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning
• Strong leadership and stakeholder skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes
• Advanced Excel and financial systems capability
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a strong eye for detail and a practical approach to solving problems
