Job summary

Alha Flight Services trading as dnata catering in Sydney is seeking a Senior Catering Attendant to join a busy production kitchen. You will perform light food prep, packing and assembling meals, and stock airline carts while maintaining presentation and HACCP standards.

The role is full-time with a 38‑hour week, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, lift items, and work a 7‑day roster. Strong safety, hygiene and teamwork ethos are essential for delivering high-quality inflight dining

Qualifications

• Full ongoing working rights in Australia.
• Sound numerical skills.
• Strong knife skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift/move items.
• Able to work across a 7‑day roster.
• Neat and tidy presentation.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desirable).
• Comfortable wearing PPE and a standardised uniform.
• Able to pass pre-employment checks (Police check & medical).
• Available to work 38 hours/week (full-time).

Responsibilities

As a full-time, Senior Catering Attendant, you’re an integral member of our team, working across a range of areas to prepare all elements required to deliver a memorable dining experience for passengers onboard our airline customers flights. To do this, you perform a variety of roles across our production kitchen, including light food prep, packing and assembling meals.

• Help chefs prepare meals in bulk.
• Measure ingredients and prepare fruit, vegetables, and proteins.
• Handle food, plate meals, and set meal trays to presentation standards.
• Stock airline carts with catering items, snacks, and beverages.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitised at all times.
• Work with team members to meet delivery deadlines.

About You

• Full ongoing working rights in Australia.

• Strong knife skills (safe, efficient and repetitive use of various knives for food prep)
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as move and lift items.
• Ability to work shift work across a 7-day roster.
• Neat and tidy presentation.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential)
• Comfortable to wear PPE gear along with a standardised uniform
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks, incl. National Police Check and medical assessment.
• Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
