Job summary

dnata catering & retail is hiring a Payroll Officer for a 12‑month fixed term contract in Broadbeach, Queensland. You will manage end-to-end payroll across Australia, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for a large workforce.

The role requires 2+ years of payroll experience, solid knowledge of legislation, and proficiency with Excel and Rockfast. You will work in a collaborative team and support payroll processes during busy periods with confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications

• Ideal: 2+ years’ payroll experience.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation including superannuation and leave.
• Experience with Enterprise Agreements and Award interpretation.
• Proactive mindset with strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end weekly and fortnightly payrolls nationally.
• Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance checks.
• Manage onboarding and employee data across multiple systems.
• Interpret awards and agreements and apply pay changes accurately.
• Process superannuation, leave accruals and payroll adjustments.
• Support Labour Hire payroll processing across Australia.
• Respond to payroll queries professionally and efficiently.

About the Role

At dnata catering & retail, payroll plays a vital role in supporting our people and operations nationwide. We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our close‑knit team in Broadbeach and help deliver accurate, timely payroll services across a large and diverse workforce.

This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values precision, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive team. In this role you will:

• Process end‑to‑end weekly and fortnightly payrolls nationally
• Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance checks
• Manage onboarding and employee data across multiple systems
• Interpret awards and agreements and apply pay changes accurately
• Process superannuation, leave accruals and payroll adjustments
• Support Labour Hire payroll processing across Australia
• Respond to payroll queries professionally and efficiently
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and accuracy

About You

• Ideally 2+ years’ payroll experience
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation including: superannuation, parental leave provisions, workers compensation and long service leave
• Strong experience with Enterprise Agreements and Award interpretation
• High attention to detail and pride in accuracy
• Strong Excel and systems capability (experience with Rockfast highly regarded)
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Proactive mindset with strong communication skills
