MEC Technical Services is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Perth team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is FIFO, initially based in Perth CBD, with future FIFO or DIDO options to meet project needs.

You will deliver geotechnical solutions for open pit and underground mining projects, provide technical guidance, and contribute to planning, data analysis and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in mining.
• RPEQ and AusIMM (CP) preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical software and modelling tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Demonstrated project management skills; able to manage multiple tasks.
• Open Pit and Underground experience preferred; knowledge of multiple mining methods.

Responsabilités

• Provide geotechnical advice to mining operations to identify and control geotechnical risks.
• Contribute geotechnical input to short- and long-term production planning and scheduling.
• Data analysis, geotechnical design and continuous improvement activities.
• Guide the engineering team responsible for day-to-day operations including pit/underground assessments.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
