MEC Technical Services is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Perth team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is FIFO, initially based in Perth CBD, with future FIFO or DIDO options to meet project needs.

You will deliver geotechnical solutions for open pit and underground mining projects, provide technical guidance, and contribute to planning, data analysis and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in mining.
• RPEQ and AusIMM (CP) preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical software and modelling tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Demonstrated project management skills; able to manage multiple tasks.
• Open Pit and Underground experience preferred; knowledge of multiple mining methods.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Perth. This permanent, full-time role is pivotal in deliver quality geotechnical solutions for our clients across varied open cut and underground projects.

This is a FIFO role, with work initially based in Perth CBD. Following this initial period, you must be willing and able to undertake FIFO or DIDO assignments to meet client and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Providing geotechnical advice to mining operations, to ensure geotechnical risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled.
• Providing geotechnical input into both short & long-term production planning and scheduling processes
• Data analysis, geotechnical design and continuous improvement activities
• Providing guidance to the engineering team responsible for the day-to-day operations, including open pit or underground assessments when/where required.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably within the mining industry.
