Harmony Australasia is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW. The role will focus on identifying geotechnical hazards and developing practical strategies to mitigate risk while supporting safe, efficient mine operations.

You will lead the geotechnical/backfill team on a FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney, with local candidates preferred, and contribute to long-term mine design, monitoring systems and data management.

Formación

• Degree in Mining, Geology, Civil or related engineering field.
• Manual Driver License.
• 5–10 years underground mining experience, with at least 5 in geotechnical role.
• Familiarisation with backfill design and inrush control.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and CAD (Deswik preferred).
• Proficient in numerical modelling and Rocscience.
• Experience with seismic monitoring software (IMS) and ground instrumentation.

Responsabilidades

• Identify opportunities to improve geotechnical/backfill operations to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Ensure meetings with company standards and government regulations.
• Review and update PHMPs, TARPS and SWIs.
• Provide long-term geotechnical input into mine design and LOA/LOM.
• Develop and maintain geotechnical records and monitoring systems.
• Mentor team members and support career development.
