Harmony Australasia is seeking a Mining Engineer to plan, monitor and optimise underground operations at the CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW. This hands-on role supports safe, productive and cost-efficient outcomes on site.

Responsibilities include drill and blast planning, stope design, and daily mine plan input, with collaboration across technical and operations teams. FIFO roster 8/6 from Brisbane or Sydney; growth opportunities exist within a dynamic international organisation.

Competenze

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Underground hard rock mining experience is essential.

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia's deepest underground mines and is Australia's highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony's strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open-pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

As a Mining Engineer, you'll work closely with a team of experienced professionals to plan, monitor and optimise underground mining operations. This is a hands-on role where your contributions will directly support safe, productive and cost-effective outcomes.

Roster:

This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6 days FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement drill and blast plans

Stope design, optimisation and reconciliation.

Provide technical input into daily, weekly, and monthly mine plans

Monitor development and production performance

Providing technical support and troubleshooting

Collaborate with technical and operational teams to ensure plan compliance

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site

What We're Looking For:

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent

Demonstrated underground hard rock mining experience is essential

Strong communication and collaboration skills
