Job summary

carsales is a leading Australian online vehicle marketplace known for hybrid working and flexible options. We build services behind the buying and selling journey, spanning UI in React/TypeScript to backend C#/.NET on AWS.

We’re looking for a senior full stack engineer who can influence what we build, not just how we build it, with a strong focus on quality, scalability and customer value.

Qualifications

• Senior experience as a full stack engineer with real depth in C#/.NET services and React with TypeScript.
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting production services on AWS and the design judgments that come with it.
• A product engineering mindset: start from the customer problem and shape products, not just deliver tickets.
• Self-sufficient, drive your own work, and help less experienced engineers grow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run features across the stack, from React/TypeScript interfaces to C#/.NET services on AWS.
• Own production readiness, reliability, observability, performance and incident response.
• Collaborate with product and design to understand customer problems and shape solutions with evidence-backed trade-offs.
• Drive projects from idea to delivery with minimal direction and sound design decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews and feedback.
• Involve yourself in all software engineering practices including testing, source control and build processes.
