Job summary

carsales is seeking a senior full stack engineer to join our Retail team in Melbourne. You’ll own features across the stack, from React/TypeScript front-ends to C#/.NET services on AWS, and you’ll drive reliability, performance and design decisions in collaboration with product and design teams.

The role emphasizes mentorship, quality engineering practices, and a product-first mindset to deliver customer value in a high-traffic automotive marketplace.

Qualifications

• Senior full stack engineer with deep C#/.NET and React with TypeScript skills.
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting production services on AWS.
• Product-engineering mindset: solve customer problems, shape products.
• Self-sufficient, drives own work and mentors junior engineers.
• Quality-first with automated testing and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run features across the stack from React/TypeScript to C#/.NET on AWS.
• Own production reliability, observability, performance and incident response.
• Collaborate with product/design to translate problems into solutions, with evidence-based trade-offs.
• Drive projects from idea to delivery with minimal direction and sound design decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers via pairing, code reviews and feedback.
• Contribute to all software engineering practices—planning, testing, source control, builds.
• Share knowledge to strengthen team culture and feedback processes.
