Job summary

Cadence Connect is partnering with an Australian fintech to recruit a Senior Full Stack Developer for their engineering team in Brisbane. This hands-on, senior role will work closely with the Lead Developer on platform evolution, with no direct reports but a chance to lift the team’s capability.

You’ll own features end-to-end from database to UI, including payments layer challenges, and mentor peers while adhering to regulated platform requirements such as audit trails and data handling.

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering production software across the full stack, including senior level.
• Strong Angular/TypeScript or React with willingness to move to Angular.
• Solid C#, ASP.NET Core and SQL Server skills in a multi-tenant setup.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and scalable architectures.
• Track record delivering reliable systems with uptime and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Take features from database through UI to production, with product and QA input.
• Review code, mentor mid-level and junior developers, manage tech debt.
• Influence system design and architectural decisions, not just implementation.
• Maintain audit trails, change control, and secure handling of data.

Job description

Cadence Connect is exclusively partnered with an established, Australian-owned fintech to find a Senior Full Stack Developer for their engineering team. Their platform is used by lenders and merchants, so the work is live, regulated and matters to the people using it.

This is a senior hands-on role where your opinion counts. You'll work as part of a small engineering team and partner closely with the Lead Developer on how the platform evolves, there are no direct reports, but you'll play a key part in lifting the capability of the developers around you.

What your week looks like

You’ll take features from the database through to the UI and into production, working alongside product and QA to shape scope and estimates before a line of code is written. Some of the more interesting challenges sit in the payments layer: gateway integrations, reconciliation and scheduling logic.

You’ll review code, mentor mid-level and junior developers, help keep technical debt in check, and work within the disciplines a regulated platform requires, including audit trails, change control and careful handling of customer and payment data.

The stack

• Front end: Angular, TypeScript, RxJS
• Back end: C#, ASP.NET Core, MediatR, with TDD and DDD practices
• Data: SQL Server and EF Core in a multi-tenant environment
• Cloud: Azure (App Services, WebJobs, Service Bus, Application Insights, deployment slots, Bicep)
• Delivery: GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD
• AI coding agents are already part of the workflow, with clear conventions and human review before anything merges

What you'll bring

• 7+ years delivering production software across the full stack, including time at senior level
• Strong Angular and TypeScript, or strong React and a genuine willingness to move across to Angular
• Solid C#, ASP.NET Core and SQL Server skills, including tuning queries in a multi-tenant setup
• Experience with AI assisted development tools (LLM-based coding agents - Claude Code or Codex).
• A track record supporting systems where uptime and reliability really matter
• Experience influencing system design, not only implementation
• Automated testing and CI/CD as a normal part of how you work
• Experience mentoring other developers
• A degree in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

Experience of working in payments or banking, familiarity with Australian payment rails (BECS, NPP, card acquiring), EF Core performance work, deeper Azure deployment experience (Front Door, Bicep, slots), or hands‑on use of AI-assisted development tools.

***This is a Hybrid role with one day a week in the office and four from home!
