Job summary

UBank seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing team building customer-centric digital experiences. You’ll own end-to-end features across the stack, from design to deployment, contributing to scalable, secure modern web applications.

You’ll collaborate with product, design and cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and help shape engineering direction. The role is Sydney-based with a hybrid working model and opportunities to influence technical direction.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience building modern front-end applications (Angular highly regarded).
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Mentoring or coaching other engineers.
• Understanding of software security principles and secure development practices.

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing team of talented developers who are passionate about building customer-centric digital experiences. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and evolving scalable applications and services. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of your work, from solution design through to deployment and production support. Key responsibilities include:

• Building modern web applications using TypeScript, Angular, and Node.js
• Designing and delivering robust, scalable solutions to solve real business and customer problems
• Writing high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code
• Taking ownership of features throughout the entire software development lifecycle
• Improving application architecture, performance, reliability, and security
• Contributing to engineering best practices and standards
• Collaborating closely with product, design, and cross-functional teams
• Mentoring and supporting other engineers to help elevate team capability
• Helping shape technical decisions and continuously improve how we build and deliver software

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• 5-8 years' experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer
• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience building modern front-end applications (Angular experience highly regarded)
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Experience working in Agile delivery environmentsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching other engineers
• Understanding of software security principles and secure development practices

Nice to Have

• Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Experience working with AWS services such as: Lambda, EC2, EKS, SQS, RDS
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases
