Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Australia is seeking a Senior Software Developer to deliver modern web experiences for MineStar-related digital products. You will focus on front-end engineering with React and Angular, while contributing Python backend work as needed to deliver end-to-end solutions.

You will collaborate with UX, product and engineering teams, applying strong engineering practices, testing, security and performance to provide reliable, scalable applications on AWS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Significant production-grade web app delivery experience.
• Strong React and Angular experience in large-scale apps.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript/HTML/CSS.
• Experience with responsive design, accessibility and performance.
• Experience integrating apps with REST APIs and data services.
• Practical Python backend development experience with APIs/services.
• AWS cloud development experience and CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain modern web apps using React/Angular/TypeScript.
• Create responsive, accessible UIs with high-quality UX.
• Translate designs and requirements into front-end solutions.
• Develop reusable components and libraries for consistency.
• Contribute to front-end architecture and engineering standards.
• Optimize performance, reliability, usability and maintainability.
• Integrate front-end with APIs and data services; collaborate on enterprise platforms.
• Develop Python backend services and APIs when needed.
• Work with AWS to deploy scalable digital applications.
• Mentor other developers and participate in code reviews and design reviews.
