Job summary

Maddocks is seeking a Senior Reporting Analyst to join the Finance and Operations team in Melbourne. You will deliver accurate financial reporting and insightful analyses to support business planning, partnering with stakeholders across the firm to understand needs and deliver timely information.

You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements, with a focus on automation and data quality in a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA, or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business analytics.
• Previous experience in financial, management or commercial reporting and analysis.
• Experience in financial/corporate reporting, FP&A, or external audit.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate insights clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse a range of financial and management reports, including performance, client, budget and ad hoc reporting.
• Provide meaningful analysis and insights to support business planning and decision-making.
• Manage the ongoing maintenance and reporting of practice team and individual lawyer budgets.
• Lead the preparation of the annual financial budget and forecasting processes.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements and deliver timely information.
• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and data quality.
• Support the Billing team and broader Finance function as required.
• Contribute to Finance and firm-wide projects with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.
