Job description

Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Shape the financial decisions behind a purpose-led bank

This is an opportunity to build and shape the forecasting capability that informs some of TMBL’s most important financial decisions.

You’ll develop sophisticated product-level forecasting models and bring them together into an integrated whole-of-bank model, creating clearer insights into profitability, balance sheet growth, funding, liquidity and capital under a range of scenarios.

Your work will help senior decision-makers understand not just where performance is heading, but what is driving it and what actions can improve outcomes.

Why this role matters

You’ll be at the centre of how TMBL forecasts and understands its balance sheet.

Partnering across Finance, Treasury, Product, Risk and other areas, you’ll turn complex financial information into practical insights and recommendations.

Your analysis will inform Executive Management, ALCO and Board decision‑making across pricing, growth, funding, liquidity, capital optimisation and interest rate risk.

As part of a 100% member‑owned bank, you’ll also be contributing to an organisation with a clear purpose: banking for good.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, maintain and enhance product-level and whole-of-bank forecasting models covering NIM, NII, capital, liquidity and balance sheet performance.
  • Deliver budgets, forecasts and longer-term projections, modelling the impact of growth strategies, pricing decisions, member behaviour, funding initiatives and changing market conditions.
  • Analyse the drivers of margin and profitability and assess the impact of cash rate and yield curve movements, hedging and product pricing.
  • Run scenario and sensitivity analysis and recommend opportunities to optimise funding mix, capital utilisation, liquidity and overall balance sheet performance.
  • Translate complex modelling and financial outcomes into clear, actionable insights for Executive Management, ALCO and the Board.
  • Maintain robust model governance, documentation, validation and controls while continuously improving methodologies, assumptions and reporting.

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting capability, with the ability to develop robust models and clearly document calculations and assumptions.
  • Sound understanding of balance sheet performance, NIM and NII, capital, liquidity and funding.
  • Ability to analyse interest rate, pricing and market scenarios and connect them to financial and balance sheet outcomes.
  • Strong analytical judgement and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Capability to work effectively across Finance, Treasury, Product, Risk and other business functions.
  • A disciplined approach to model governance, controls, documentation and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience modelling banking products such as home and personal lending, commercial lending, treasury investments, retail and term deposits, or wholesale funding.
  • Experience supporting ALCO, executive or Board-level financial analysis and reporting.
  • Exposure to capital optimisation, liquidity management, interest rate risk or balance sheet strategy.
