Job description

Our client is a complex, multi-entity ASX-listed financial services business with a growing international footprint. They're looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join their Group Financial Control team. You'll be working on group statutory reporting and getting real exposure to the CFO, the Board and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll help keep the group's financial reporting accurate, timely and well controlled.

  • Preparing statutory financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Producing group-level monthly reporting, including inputs to the monthly CFO Report, quarterly forecasts and the annual Business Plan.
  • Running month-end GL close, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Contributing to technical accounting papers for the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
  • Maintaining and developing group accounting policies and procedure documents.
  • Supporting the external audit from start to finish as a key point of contact for the auditors.
  • Driving process improvements across the group close and reporting cycle.
  • Working closely with divisional CFOs and Financial Controllers, the international finance teams, FP&A, Legal, CoSec, and Risk and Compliance.
ABOUT YOU
  • Fully CA or CPA qualified.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the client can't consider visa holders for this role.
  • 2-4 years' experience, ideally from external audit (Big 4 preferred) with financial services clients, or from the Group Financial Control or Group Reporting team of an ASX-listed company.
  • Solid working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial statement preparation. Strong Excel skills. Exposure to TechOne, OneStream, TM1 or similar systems is a bonus.
  • A clear communicator who builds good relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-focused, self-managing and always looking for a better way to do things.
WHY APPLY
  • It's a genuine move from audit into corporate, without losing the technical side of the work.
  • You'll get exposure to the CFO, Board committees and international finance teams early in your career.
  • You'll work on group reporting for a complex ASX-listed business, which is excellent experience for a future Financial Controller or Group Reporting role.
  • You'll have hybrid flexibility with 3 days in a CBD office.

Please note: applicants must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Visa sponsorship is not available.
