Job summary

Ese Consulting is seeking a senior financial accountant to ensure integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, while delivering meaningful insights to the CFO and management team. The role combines reporting, ASX compliance, audit, commercial analysis and continuous improvement, with ownership of core finance functions.

You will lead month-end close, prepare financial statements, and provide commentary; manage reconciliations, payroll and statutory obligations, and support ASX

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification required.
• 5+ years of financial accounting experience.
• Experience within an ASX-listed or similarly hands-on reporting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting and audit.
• Experience with ASX reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
• Experience with Power BI highly desirable.
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Leading the month-end close and preparation of monthly financial reporting.
• Preparing and reviewing P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and management reports.
• Providing budget-to-actual analysis and insightful financial commentary.
• Managing balance sheet, GL, bank, prepayment and financing reconciliations.
• Support ASX reporting, leading quarterly, half-year and annual financial reporting.
• Coordinating the half-year review and year-end audit.
• Reviewing payroll, superannuation and associated provisions.
• Managing key statutory obligations including GST, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax and WorkCover.
• Overseeing inventory, stocktake and biological asset accounting.
• Maintaining fixed assets, depreciation schedules and capital expenditure accounting.

Job description
