Foundry Talent Partners is seeking a Financial Accountant for our client in Mascot, Sydney. You will manage month-end close, prepare reconciliations, and oversee intercompany transactions across group entities in a hands-on, detail‑driven role.
Reporting to the CFO, you will prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, BAS, and support statutory financial statements and year-end audits. Advanced Excel, strong communication, and a proactive team‑first attitude are essential.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established Australian group operating across multiple entities and locations nationally. With a head office in Mascot and a close-knit finance team, they're looking for a Financial Accountant to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract, with genuine potential for the role to go permanent.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting into the CFO, you'll be responsible for core financial accounting across several group entities. This is a busy, hands-on role where technical accuracy and good judgement matter.
Key responsibilities include:
You will manage month-end close across multiple entities, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
You will prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, keeping the general ledger clean and fully supported.
You will manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the group.
You will prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis for the Financial Controller.
You will prepare BAS and support other tax compliance requirements.
You will support the preparation of statutory financial statements and the year-end audit process.
You will help maintain strong financial controls and drive process improvements across the finance function.
You will assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis as needed.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
CA or CPA qualified
Solid financial accounting experience
Strong month-end, reconciliation and intercompany experience.
Advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Clear, professional communication skills and a proactive, team-first attitude.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
This role is based onsite in Mascot, 5 days a week.
