Job summary

The Client is one of Australia’s largest retailers with a prominent ASX-listed profile. A Senior Group Reporting professional is sought to lead group reporting, oversight of financial analysis, and provide clear insights to senior executives, the Board and investors.

The role supports budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, while developing robust controls and collaborating with senior finance leaders. A six-month fixed-term contract with hybrid Melbourne-based work is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to interpret complex financial information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee group financial reporting, associate financial analysis, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare high-quality Board papers, reporting packs and executive-level commentary.
• Support the investor relations function with accurate financial information, analysis and insights.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to mitigate risks.
• Partner with senior finance leaders and stakeholders across the broader organisation.
• Monitor cash flow and manage company assets effectively.
• Manage multiple reporting priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced listed environment.

The Successful Applicant

• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and a CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.


• An experienced senior finance professional with a strong background in group reporting, external reporting or a similarly complex finance environment.


• Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret complex financial information.


• Proven experience preparing Board papers, executive reporting packs and senior-level financial commentary.


• Proven experience in financial management within the retail industry.


• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing a team of direct reports.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.


• Experience supporting investor relations or working within an ASX-listed environment preferable.


• Comfortable working at pace while juggling multiple high-profile priorities and deadlines.
