Job summary

Moir Group is seeking a Senior Finance Manager/Financial Controller in Sydney to lead end-to-end financial accounting, month-end close, and consolidation activities. You will partner with the Finance Director to ensure robust controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Group consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and external audit.
  • ERP experience; NetSuite experience highly regarded.

Senior Finance Manager/Financial Controller

Position Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a broad, hands‑on role with end‑to‑end responsibility for Group financial accounting and reporting. You will oversee month‑end and year‑end close, management reporting, Group consolidation, statutory reporting, external audit, technical accounting, intercompany accounting and financial systems, while helping strengthen processes and controls across the finance function. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead monthly and year‑end financial close activities.
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, journals and accounting adjustments.
  • Manage Group consolidation and intercompany accounting.
  • Prepare and review management and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Coordinate statutory financial statements and external audits.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex and non‑routine transactions.
  • Oversee related‑party transactions, cost allocations and intercompany arrangements.
  • Support GST, BAS, tax and other financial compliance requirements.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting practices.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve finance processes and systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to accounting team members.
  • Partner with the Finance Director and stakeholders across the business.
Profile

We are seeking a CA/CPA-qualified finance professional with strong financial accounting and reporting experience. You will have:

  • Strong experience in financial accounting, month‑end close and management reporting.
  • Proven experience with Group consolidation and multi‑entity accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and external audit.
  • Strong general ledger, reconciliation and financial control skills.
  • Experience with intercompany and related‑party accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting and problem‑solving capability.
  • ERP experience; NetSuite experience is highly regarded.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical approach to process improvement and financial controls.
  • Experience providing guidance or leadership to accounting team members.
