Job summary

SES is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer for Gateway Operations & Engineering. You will lead complex installations, commissioning, and upgrade activities for SES gateway stations and Tier-1 customer terminals, including RF, baseband, networking, and monitoring systems.

You will act as the on-site senior technical authority, make real‑time engineering decisions during deployments and outages, and independently conduct site surveys with design input, risk assessments, and readiness

Qualifications

• Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, telecommunications, aeronautics, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in satellite and/or telecommunications.
• 8+ years hands-on designing, deploying, or maintaining satellite terminals and ground infra.
• Expert knowledge of satellite RF/baseband systems and network management.
• Proven experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex installation, commissioning, and upgrade activities for SES gateway stations and Tier‑1 terminals (RF/baseband/networking/monitoring).
• Act as on-site senior technical authority, making real-time engineering decisions during deployments, incidents, and maintenance windows.
• Independently execute site surveys, producing design input, risk assessments, and readiness evaluations.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of satellite and ground system anomalies, including root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Provide Tier‑3 field engineering support during outages and critical issues.
