Job summary

Amazon LEO is expanding global broadband with a satellite constellation. We seek a Sr. RF Systems Analysis and Design Engineer to own end-to-end modeling of satellite links, RF sub-systems, and performance targets across modem, RF front-end, and phased array domains.

You will build, validate and optimize system-level models, drive hardware requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure on-orbit performance and scalable legibility of results.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with Python and C++ (plus other languages) and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end RF system and link models (3GPP style), including link budgets and performance trade studies.
• Perform system-level simulations of phased array architectures and RF signal chains, correlated with lab/field data.
• Define and flow down system performance requirements to hardware, RFIC, antenna, and firmware teams.
• Collaborate with modem, waveform, and MAC/PHY teams to optimize RF system throughput, coverage, and availability.
• Build reusable analysis tools (Python/Matlab/C++) to standardize link analysis across the organization.
• Coordinate measurement campaigns with test, calibration, and validation teams to close loops between models and observed performance.
• Support architecture reviews with data visualizations and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers in RF system thinking and tool quality.
