Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer/Planner to support the Eva Copper Mine EPC scope in Queensland, Australia. The role focuses on non-routine cost engineering, scheduling, and integration of multi-discipline activities to deliver a robust project plan.

You will establish stakeholder relationships, analyze schedules, quantify risks, and deliver training while coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning interfaces on a 2:1 FIFO roster in Cloncurry,

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience directing project planning/scheduling across civil, SMP, E&I tasks with interfaces to operations, maintenance and owners teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and planning inputs from all functions to prepare a robust and achievable schedule.
• Coordinate setup and maintenance of quantity tracking metrics to ensure weekly quantities meet the project schedule requirements.
• Integrate interdisciplinary schedule requirements to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Establish activities durations provided by contractors and determine critical path items.
• Develop and monitor short-term 3-week lookahead schedules and monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Monitor schedule deviation and recommend corrective actions/workarounds.
• Prepare and write schedule commentary for monthly progress reports.
• Identify and report activities with critical or potential schedule impact and manage Schedule Impact Reports.
