Job summary

UGL is seeking a site-based Environmental Advisor for a major solar and BESS project near Mount Isa. You will provide environmental support across construction activities, ensuring compliance with permits and environmental management plans while working in a live operating environment.

Reporting to the site HSE Manager, you will conduct inspections, maintain plans, engage stakeholders, and help drive continuous improvement. FIFO roster 10 days on, 4 days off, permanent role with strong pipeline.

Qualifications

• Experience as a site-based Environmental Advisor or Environmental Officer on major projects.
• Qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline with knowledge of environmental legislation.
• Experience maintaining environmental management plans and supporting environmental reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work a FIFO roster of 10 days on, 4 days off.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day environmental support across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain environmental management plans, procedures and documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and environmental monitoring to identify risks and opportunities.
• Assist with environmental incidents, investigations, corrective actions and compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote environmental awareness and drive continuous improvement.
