Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor for a major solar and BESS project on a FIFO basis. The role supports construction activities from early works to completion, ensuring environmental compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

You will work with project managers, supervisors and subcontractors to promote responsible practices, maintain plans and regulatory alignment, and contribute to a safe, sustainable site environment on a large-scale renewable energy site.

Qualifications

• Experience as a site-based Environmental Advisor or Environmental Officer within construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, resources or other major project environments.
• Experience maintaining environmental management plans, conducting site inspections and supporting environmental reporting activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day environmental support across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain environmental management plans, procedures and associated documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and environmental monitoring to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with environmental incidents, investigations, corrective actions and compliance reporting.
• Work closely with project teams, supervisors and subcontractors to promote environmental awareness and drive continuous improvement.

Greenfield construction. Long-term opportunities with UGL** Join UGL on a major solar farm and battery energy storage (BESS) project near Mount Isa. Working alongside an existing operational solar farm, you'll support the delivery of a large-scale renewable energy project that combines new construction with the challenges and opportunities of a live operating environment. As part of UGL's growing portfolio of renewable energy projects, you'll have the opportunity to build your experience on a high-profile project while contributing to Australia's energy transition. **Why this role** * Be part of a major renewable energy project from early works through to completion. * Gain exposure across both utility-scale solar and BESS construction. * Work with one of Australia's leading renewable energy contractors. * Join a supportive site team with experienced HSE and project leaders. * Secure a permanent role backed by UGL's strong pipeline of energy projects. **About the role** Reporting to the site HSE Manager, you'll provide environmental support across construction activities, helping the project meet its environmental obligations while promoting responsible work practices on site. This is a hands-on role that combines field-based environmental management with compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
