Job summary

AEMO, the national energy market operator, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead investigations into power system security and renewable integration. You will provide technical leadership across strategic projects and influence the design and operation of Australia’s evolving power system.

The role supports a national transition, offers flexible working arrangements, and invites collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable energy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering focusing on power systems.
• Experience with NEM is preferred.
• Experience in power system analysis, modelling, planning, or operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on technical studies and investigations into emerging power system security and stability challenges.
• Perform and review advanced power system modelling and simulation studies.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions that support the reliable integration of renewable energy technologies.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise and influencing industry outcomes.
• Liaise with specialist consultants and contribute to the delivery of strategic technical projects.
• Mentor and support developing engineers, helping build technical capability across the team.
• Contribute to the evolution of power system design principles and engineering approaches for the future energy system
