Job summary

AEMO is seeking a Senior Engineer to shape Australia’s power system by assessing network capability, identifying challenges and developing robust solutions for system security and reliability. You will lead complex power system studies, mentor junior engineers, and deliver timely, evidence-based insights to inform transmission planning and investment decisions across the National Electricity Market.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering with strong experience in power system stability, dynamics, and analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of power system dynamics and transmission networks.
• Experience using power system analysis tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality power system analysis and modelling to assess system security, reliability, and development, informing network adequacy and investment decisions.
• Lead end-to-end project delivery, including methodology, analysis, quality assurance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop constraint equations and inputs to support market modelling of future system security and development pathways.
• Coach engineers and manage multiple priorities while communicating insights clearly.
