Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven leadership within power generation, transmission, distribution or similar energy operations.
• Strong knowledge of power system control, generation assets and transmission networks.
• Experience with SCADA/RTU-based monitoring and protection schemes.
• Ability to make safety‑first operational decisions under pressure, during incidents or abnormal conditions.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety, switching practices and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Energy Controllers for real-time monitoring and remote operation of Fortescue's power system.
• Coordinate generation, transmission and distribution activities to maintain network stability and supply continuity.
• Provide leadership during incidents, outages and abnormal operating conditions with timely, safe responses.
• Oversee switching programs, planned maintenance, and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in operating procedures and control systems.
• Coach and develop team capabilities through structured training and feedback.
• Collaborate with Power Station, Transmission and Engineering stakeholders to coordinate activities and decisions.
• Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory and technical compliance.
