Job summary

BAI Communications in Australia seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to be the technical authority for resilient design, safe operation and high‑performance delivery of our power infrastructure across national networks.

You will lead complex fault investigations, guide operational teams through incidents, oversee contractors, and ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and Design Authority standards, including onsite commissioning and remote SME support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; Engineers Australia entry eligible.
• Chartered status desirable.
• Criminal History Check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical design requirements across projects.
• Prepare and peer-review design packages to Design Authority standards.
• Act as SME escalation point for operational incidents.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across generators, UPS, ATS, switchboards, protection systems and controls.
• Support commissioning activities—remote or onsite SME support as required.
• Oversee and guide contractors to ensure safety and standards.
• Apply current codes and best practices to engineering documentation.
• Prepare engineering deliverables—specifications, designs, reports, feasibility assessments.
• Provide SME input for bids and technical solutioning.
• Build relationships across teams, partners, suppliers, and regulators.
