Job summary

BAI Communications is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead resilient power infrastructure across our national network. You will be the technical authority for design, operation, and high‑level fault support, bridging theory and field performance to ensure reliability and safety of mains and standby power systems.

You will guide complex fault investigations, support commissioning, review design submissions, and mentor teams and contractors while applying AS/NZS 3000 standards and modern

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (suitable for Engineers Australia graduate-level entry).
• Australian driver's licence and ability to obtain Criminal History Check.
• Chartered status desirable or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical, commercial, and compliance aspects of electrical design requirements.
• Prepare and peer‑review complex engineering design packages to meet Design Authority standards.
• Act as SME escalation point for operational incidents and complex faults.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across generators, UPS, ATS, switchboards, protection systems, and controls.
• Support commissioning activities with remote or onsite SME input.
• Oversee contractors to ensure safety and engineering standards.
• Apply current codes and best practices to engineering documentation.
• Produce high-quality deliverables including specifications, designs, reports, and feasibility studies.
