Job summary

Engineering Networks in Sydney is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to ensure reliability and performance of LV electrical infrastructure across a large-scale network. You will design, commission, and provide operational support in live environments.

You will lead fault investigations, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with contractors while supporting outages. A degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with UPS, generators, ATS, and switchboards are required, with RPEQ/Chartered

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with LV systems knowledge.
• Experience with critical power infrastructure (UPS, generators, ATS, switchboards, controls).
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience in utilities, telecoms, industrial, or data centre environments.
• RPEQ/Chartered status (or working towards) is highly regarded.

The Position:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will operate as a technical SME responsible for the reliability and ongoing performance of LV electrical infrastructure across a large-scale network. This role offers a combination of design, commissioning, operational support, and hands-on fault finding, supporting both project-based work and live operational environments.

Duties include:

• Act as the key technical escalation point for complex electrical faults and system issues
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations across critical power infrastructure
• Support commissioning activities, outages, and operational teams in the field
• Assist with engineering designs, technical standards, contractor coordination, and mentoring junior engineers

Skills & experience required:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering with strong knowledge of LV systems and AS/NZS 3000
• Experience working with critical power infrastructure, including UPS, generators, ATS, switchboards, and control systems
• Strong practical troubleshooting and fault-finding capability across the full project lifecycle
• Previous exposure to critical infrastructure environments such as utilities, telecoms, industrial, or data centres
• RPEQ / Chartered status (or working towards) and/or trade background will be highly regarded
