Job summary

BAI Communications is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead resilient power infrastructure and provide SME fault support across its national network in Australia. You will ensure safe operation and high-performance delivery of mains and standby power systems, bridging design and field performance.

You will guide advanced fault analysis, oversee commissioning, and coach teams while applying AS/NZS 3000 and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Engineers Australia graduate-level entry).
• Chartered status desirable.
• Australian driver’s licence is required.
• Criminal History Check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical, commercial, and compliance aspects of electrical design requirements.
• Prepare and peer-review complex engineering design packages to ensure alignment with Design Authority standards.
• Act as SME escalation point for operational incidents and unplanned events.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across generators, UPS, ATS units, switchboards, protection systems, and control interfaces.
• Support commissioning activities—offering remote or onsite SME support as required.
• Oversee and guide contractors to ensure consistent engineering and safety standards.
• Apply current codes, standards, and best practices to BAI engineering documentation.
• Prepare high-quality engineering deliverables—including specifications, designs, reports, and feasibility assessments.
• Provide SME input for bid development and technical solutioning.
• Build collaborative relationships across BAI teams, partners, suppliers, and regulators.
