Job summary

PLS seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Perth-based team. You will lead HV/LV and instrumentation design for mining projects, coordinate procurement, and oversee site commissioning, with a focus on safety and quality.

With 5+ years in electrical and instrumentation design within construction or commissioning, you will collaborate across disciplines, manage contracts, and travel to the Pilbara region as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical & instrumentation design engineering experience in construction or commissioning environments.
• Strong technical skills with HV, LV & instrumentation design.
• Experience in commercial contract management.
• Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
• Strong communication skills with people at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiar with ETAP and Digsilent or similar software.
• Takes personal ownership over completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Development Leads to ensure projects meet requirements and specifications across greenfield and brownfield sites.
• Coordinate and manage engineering design to meet technical and quality standards within time and budget.
• Coordinate and manage equipment procurement, including tender, evaluation, award and expediting delivery.
• Assist in preparing installation contract scope of works and tender reviews.
• Contribute to estimating and scheduling components of works execution planning.
• Provide technical design oversight during project execution and manage technical queries.
• Project quality management with inspections on site and at vendors' factories.
• Assist in site commissioning and operational handover; travel to Pilbara as needed.
