Job summary

Primero is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join our Perth team, delivering diverse projects across commodities including gold, lithium and energy. The role covers studies, detailed design through to construction support and commissioning.

Based at our new Head Office in Perth, you will develop electrical plant concepts, mentor junior designers and ensure design quality across the project lifecycle, working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience as an Electrical Designer in multidisciplinary 3D environments.
• Electrical and instrumentation design for industrial plants, refineries, or mining/minerals processing or oil and gas sectors.
• Ability to check electrical design deliverables against project quality requirements.
• Understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, MEL, GA drawings and vendor documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical plant concept, layouts, equipment arrangements, cable routing and installation drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Mentor and support junior designers, promoting technical excellence and consistency across project deliverables.
• Ensure the technical quality and consistency of electrical design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning by responding to technical queries and reviewing design changes.
• Provide technical support to the project team to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, standards, and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the project team, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Produce discipline specific deliverables that meet Primero's, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver high-quality electrical design documentation in accordance with project schedule, budget and quality objectives.
• Review and provide feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
