Job summary

Primero seeks a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Perth team, delivering electrical design and instrumentation expertise across diverse projects. You will work through studies, detailed design, construction support and commissioning, coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Based at our Perth office, you will mentor junior designers, ensure design quality, and support procurement and construction activities in alignment with standards and regulations. A Can Do culture awaits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience as an Electrical Designer in multidisciplinary 3D design/model review environments.
• Electrical and instrumentation design experience in industrial plants, refineries, or mining/minerals processing or oil and gas industries.
• Demonstrated experience checking electrical design deliverables against project quality requirements.
• Understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, MEL, general arrangement drawings and vendor documentation.
• Knowledge of design theories, principles and practices.
• Ability to work efficiently within a multi-discipline team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical plant concept, layouts, equipment arrangements, cable routing and installation drawings in coordination with other engineering disciplines using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate designers, promoting technical excellence and consistency across project deliverables.
• Ensure the technical quality and consistency of electrical design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning by responding to technical queries and reviewing design changes.
• Provide technical support to the project team to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, standards, and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the project team, clients and to other project stakeholders.
• Produce discipline specific deliverables that meet Primero's, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver high-quality electrical design documentation in accordance with project schedule, budget and quality objectives.
• Review and provide feedback on vendor drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
