Job summary

Technical Resources is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for a 12-month, site-based contract in a major industrial facility. You will deliver electrical and instrumentation design packages from concept through to commissioning, supporting sustaining capital projects and brownfield upgrades.

You will work with engineering, operations and project teams to develop practical, safe, and maintainable designs, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent design qualification.
• Electrical licence advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) design within industrial, mining, resources, manufacturing or heavy process environments.
• Strong understanding of project delivery from study and design phases through to construction and commissioning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality electrical and instrumentation design deliverables across a portfolio of projects.
• Develop practical, fit-for-purpose design solutions that consider safety, operability, maintainability and constructability.
• Prepare and review design documentation including drawings, layouts and technical deliverables.
• Support project execution from concept design through to commissioning and as-built documentation.
• Participate in project reviews, design workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Identify technical issues and contribute to the development of effective engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, structural and control systems disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Australian standards, project requirements and internal design procedures.
• Support project planning activities including estimates, schedules, forecasts and reporting where required.
• Maintain design quality through checking, review and change management processes.
