Job summary

CPL - Choice, Passion, Life is seeking a Senior Direct Support Worker to oversee, coordinate and provide support to individuals accessing housing of their choice. The role promotes independence and helps clients build supports to participate in the community.

You will guide Direct Support Workers on shifts, manage priorities, and ensure high-quality service delivery across Ballina and surrounding areas. A strong leader with care-plan familiarity is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in service delivery requirements of group center based programs and supported independent living.
• Confidence to act as a role model and team leader.
• Familiar with care plans, medical documentation and reporting processes.
• Excellent communication skills, liaise with management to optimise response time.

Responsibilities

What would I be doing?

As the Senior Direct Support Worker you will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating and providing support to people to access and live in the accommodation of their choice, actively promote independence and choice and assist individuals to develop networks and supports which will enable them to participate as valued members of their community.

This could include:

Provide on shift guidance and support to Direct Support Workers, identify daily priorities and delegate tasks to ensure optimal Service delivery.

• Provides support and assistance to individuals to help them live the live they choose such as personal care (e.g. bathing, toileting, dressing, eating and taking of medication) manual handling and general support.
• Support our clients with scheduling appointments and activities with health and other professionals.

What you’ll need

• Flexibility to a work pattern that spans Ballina and Byron Bay
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
• Current Nationally accredited First Aid and CPR.
