Job summary

Buildkite is seeking a highly capable Support Engineer to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex CI/CD and infrastructure issues for enterprise customers, collaborating with Software Engineering teams at Canva, Uber, and Airbnb to unblock critical workflows.

You will design scalable tools and processes, mentor peers, and contribute to open source projects while delivering world-class support with a strong customer focus in a remote, WA-timezone setup.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing complex CI/CD and infra issues.
• Proficient scripting/coding in Bash, Ruby on Rails, or Golang.
• Experience with Linux-based environments and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong customer-focused communication and collaboration with distributed teams.
• Proactive in designing scalable tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Independently resolve highly technical CI/CD, software, and infrastructure issues for enterprise customers
• Provide support via Slack, Zoom, Email, Plain, and Community Forum
• Lead customer-facing retrospectives and planning sessions to improve their Buildkite experience
• Identify opportunities to prevent future issues and drive proactive solutions
• Contribute to and maintain open source tools such as Bash plugins and Golang utilities
• Publish documentation updates and proactive communications
• Act as a voice for customers shaping product and process improvements
• Own and improve support workflows
• Share learnings with Product and Engineering
• Mentor peers and foster inclusive environment
