The University of Newcastle is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead a small team and drive reliability across enterprise platforms. You will shape how technology is delivered at scale, mentor developers and collaborate with stakeholders across services and vendors.

You’ll work on ServiceNow, Dynamics 365, Okta, SailPoint and AWS, building AI-assisted development, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. A strong security mindset and leadership are essential.

Formación

• 5+ years experience delivering DevOps on enterprise platforms with complex dependencies across cloud and integration layers.
• Proven leadership and mentoring across multiple stakeholders and developers.
• Hands-on DevOps with automation, observability, IaC, configuration management and deployment tooling.
• Strong ITSM experience (incident, problem, change, release, SLAs).
• Experience implementing information security, risk management and compliance in enterprise environments.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and provision software and infrastructure across enterprise platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability and security.
• Lead the design and continuous improvement of AI-assisted development, CI/CD pipelines, automation, observability and IaC practices.
• Plan requirements with stakeholders and coordinate end-to-end implementation.
• Provide expert guidance and training on technology platforms to DTS and wider stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex scalability and performance issues across multi-system environments.
• Oversee code/build quality, reviews, and development standards enforcement.
• Maintain platform health via upgrades, secure coding practices and policy alignment.
• Mentor a small team of developers and support their growth.
