Job summary

ELMO Software is seeking a hands-on database expert in Australia to own our production databases across MySQL, SQL Server and PostgreSQL. You will tune slow queries, manage upgrades, and ensure security while supporting a modern data stack.

You’ll build Snowflake pipelines, write durable Python/SQL, and leverage AI tooling to accelerate investigation and analytics. This role offers hybrid work and impact on HRIS platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong DBA experience across AWS RDS, especially MySQL and SQL Server.
• Aurora PostgreSQL is highly regarded.
• Production support of databases via ticket queues with SLAs.
• Database monitoring and alerting for health, performance, and capacity.
• Snowflake and dbt in production environments.
• Proficient Python and advanced SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer MySQL and SQL Server; monitor health, performance and capacity.
• Own and triage database tickets; meet SLAs.
• Plan upgrades; maintain security controls and access management.
• Use AI agents to accelerate investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Build Snowflake pipelines and dbt models; automate data loading.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness and security.
