Job summary

Synechron in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Staff Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data platforms using Snowflake, dbt, and AWS.

You will design scalable data pipelines, build data transformation workflows with dbt, optimize Snowflake performance and implement data quality, governance, and security standards while mentoring engineers across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on staff engineer to lead data platform design and optimization.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
• Build and maintain data transformation workflows using dbt.
• Develop data models, reusable macros, tests, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
• Optimize Snowflake performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Use AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis, and Step Functions.
• Implement data quality, governance, monitoring, and security standards.
• Lead technical designs, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot complex production and performance issues.
