Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Engineer in Australia to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data warehouses that support enterprise analytics and BI initiatives.

You will design Snowflake-based solutions, develop dbt models, and implement robust data models while ensuring data quality, governance, and cost control. The role requires strong SQL, cloud experience, and CI/CD familiarity to accelerate deployment and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Snowflake Data Cloud experience.
• dbt model development, testing, and incremental loading.
• Proven data modelling expertise (Dimensional, Star, Snowflake, Data Vault).
• Experience building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Advanced SQL development and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
• Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake as the enterprise data platform.
• Build and manage robust data transformation frameworks using dbt.
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models supporting analytics and reporting requirements.
• Implement best practices for data quality, testing, governance, and documentation.
• Optimize Snowflake performance, cost management, and query tuning.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and engineers to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Develop reusable dbt models, macros, tests, and documentation.
• Support data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and data governance standards.
