Job summary

Helia, based in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Engineer - Data & AI Platform to design and build an AI-native data platform using Snowflake. You will craft scalable data pipelines and AI-ready datasets, enabling AI workloads and embedded intelligence across the organisation.

The role requires hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, dbt, Python, and Snowpark, plus familiarity with LLM/embedding use cases. You will partner with AI engineers to integrate Snowflake-hosted intelligence into

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, dbt and Python, ideally including Snowpark.
• Experience with Snowflake AI capabilities and building AI-enabled workflows within a data platform.
• Exposure to LLM, vector, embedding or semantic use cases.
• Experience designing scalable data models and architectures, with knowledge of Data Vault, common data models or dimensional modelling.
• Understanding of machine learning data requirements, feature engineering and/or production AI/ML workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and AI applications using Snowflake-native AI capabilities.
• Enable in-database AI, LLM, vector and semantic workflows.
• Design and optimise data models and structures supporting analytical and AI workloads.
• Contribute to AI-ready data architecture and enterprise data modelling approaches.
• Prepare governable, high-quality data for AI, ML and analytics.
• Partner with AI engineers to integrate Snowflake-hosted intelligence into applications.
• Implement AI observability and monitoring for reliable AI/data solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to translate concepts into practical data/AI solutions.
