REA Group is building an AI-ready data foundation in Melbourne and seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will coach teams and collaborate with business units to uplift data capabilities. This permanent role sits in the Launchpad ecosystem, enabling data mesh across REA.

You will partner with data domain owners, translate governance into practical guidance and drive data health, ownership and product thinking at scale. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifikationen

• Strong hands-on experience as a data engineer.
• Knowledge of data-as-a-product concepts, including ownership and lifecycle management.
• Experience working with product managers and delivery teams to translate standards into data products.
• Proven ability to coach, enable and uplift capability.
• Comfort operating in federated, influence-based environments with ambiguity.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without authority.
• Enterprise mindset with cross-domain value focus.

Aufgaben

• Partner with Data Domain Owners to embed ownership and uplift data operating practices.
• Embed data standards, guardrails and data-as-a-product practices into practical guidance.
• Improve data health across domains by enhancing quality, reliability and observability.
• Coach Data Product Owners in data-as-a-product thinking across lifecycle from discovery to scale.
• Uplift data management capability through hands-on coaching and sharing patterns.
• Capture raw signals from data domains and translate into actionable feedback for data platforms.
• Identify cross-domain opportunities to drive enterprise value and contribute to governance forums.
• Track and report data mesh progress and business impact.
