Job summary

REA Group in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Mesh Enablement Squad. You will coach teams, drive data standards and governance, and help deliver trusted, AI-ready data products at scale.

You will work across data domains, partner with product owners, and contribute to a federated data platform strategy within Launchpad. A strong background in data engineering and governance is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience with modern data platforms, pipelines and data quality.
• Ability to translate governance and security requirements into practical guidance.
• Experience coaching product owners and teams in data-as-a-product thinking.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Domain Owners and Data Product Owners to embed ownership and uplift data practices.
• Embed data standards and governance in ways that enable delivery.
• Improve data health within domains by monitoring quality and observability.
• Coach teams in data-as-a-product thinking across full lifecycle of data products.
• Uplift data management capability through hands-on coaching and sharing best practices.
