Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Australia seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join a high-performing team delivering retail projects for a national client. You will lead cost planning, budgeting, procurement, and final accounts across multiple store renewals and refurbishments, ensuring value and timely reporting.

You will collaborate with clients, project managers, contractors and consultants, mentor junior staff, and maintain market knowledge to deliver accurate commercial advice and robust cost

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in Cost Management or QS.
• Experience in cost planning, estimating, procurement, and final accounts.
• Client, contractor and consultant relationship management.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-contract cost planning and estimating during design.
• Prepare and manage budgets across multiple retail projects.
• Oversee procurement and tender evaluation activities.
• Assess progress claims, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor costs and provide commercial advice to clients and teams.
• Maintain relationships with Woolworths project teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Engage with local markets to stay current on cost benchmarks.
• Collaborate with cost and project management across locations.
• Deliver accurate reporting and forecasting.
• Own project deliverables and manage projects independently.
