• Own software services and platforms that keep the AWS network running in the region, leading engineering to be more resilient, automated, and scalable.
• Own health and reliability of critical network software, responding to events with end-to-end architectural understanding.
• Identify patterns in operational burden and engineer them away, building automation that turns runbooks into self-healing workflows.
• Lead design and implementation of solutions that reduce toil, develop automation, and collaborate with global service teams.
• Design and implement new software components and services to improve operational efficiency.
• Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and long-term fixes, articulating requirements to service owners.
• Lead incident responses and post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor engineers; contribute to architecture; champion best practices; build relationships with global teams.
