Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior System Development Engineer in Core Networking. You will own the software services and platforms that keep the AWS network running within the region, leading engineering efforts to make them more resilient, automated and scalable.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and build automation that reduces operational toil while enabling faster, safer deployments across global teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 5+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment.
• 3+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
• 3+ years of programming with languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the software services and platforms that keep the AWS network running within the region.
• Lead the engineering effort to rein­vent them to be more resilient, automated, and scalable.
• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to architectural decisions shaping the programme's future.
• Build automation that reduces operational toil and improves reliability.
• Collaborate with global service teams to ensure successful deployments and effective problem resolution.
