Job summary

Amazon is seeking a System Development Engineer to build, operate, monitor and assure the AWS network within Australia. The role spans software services, automation, and operational management across multiple programming languages and frameworks.

You’ll own end-to-end deployments, diagnose issues, develop permanent fixes, and collaborate with global service teams to enhance stability and deliver value to internal customers across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and operating scalable software services
• Ability to design and implement full‑stack components for operational environments
• Strong focus on automation to reduce manual intervention

Responsibilities

• Own and operate software services and platforms for the AWS network within the region
• Develop automation and tooling to improve reliability and reduce recurring issues
• Manage deployments and monitor service health across global teams
• Diagnose issues at code and systems level and implement long-term fixes
• Collaborate with service teams to ensure successful deployments and guided handovers
