Job summary

IDC Construct in Queensland (Hervey Bay/Bundaberg region) seeks an experienced Contracts Administrator to lead the commercial side of multi-million dollar projects, handling cost reporting, subcontracts, and variations. You report to the Project Manager and work with the Commercial Manager to apply our systems and templates.

Projects range from $5M to $40M, and you may run one large project or two mid-size jobs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in contract administration in commercial construction.
• Head contract administration on projects of $10M and above; design and construct experience well regarded.
• Solid working knowledge of construction contracts, progress claims, variations and security of payment (Queensland BIF Act experience a plus).
• Able to read and interpret plans, drawings and scopes.
• Comfortable with project management platforms and the Microsoft Office suite.
• A qualification in construction management or quantity surveying, or a trade background, well regarded.
• Accurate, organised and good at following things through.
• Australian work rights are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly cost report for each project (cost to date, committed and forecast) for your PM to review.
• Keep commitments, variations and claims live in our project management platform.
• Work with our Finance team on invoice coding, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare subcontract packages and scopes of works, support procurement, then draft and administer the subcontracts.
• Check subcontractor securities, insurances and SWMS with our Compliance Manager before anyone starts on site.
• Assess subcontractor progress claims and prepare payment schedules, with back-charges backed by site evidence.
• Raise, reconcile and close out purchase orders and invoices against commitments.
• Administer the head contract day to day, including notices and monthly progress claims.
• Price and submit variations captured by your PM.
• Keep notice and delay registers current.
• Run document control and RFI administration.
• Prepare final accounts at the end of each project.
