Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join a well-established Tier 1 commercial builder on a major Cairns project. The four-year programme offers long-term security and a strong pipeline of future work.

You will support procurement, subcontract administration, variations, and cost controls while coordinating with the Project Manager and site team to ensure on-time delivery and commercial compliance.

Qualifications

• Has experience as Contracts Administrator in commercial construction.
• Experience on large-scale projects with Tier 1 or Tier 2 builders is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor management, procurement and variations.
• Confident negotiating contracts and managing commercial risks.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and capable of working in a high-performing project team.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor procurement, letting and administration.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract agreements and scopes of work.
• Manage variations, progress claims, payment schedules and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and contractual obligations.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to support project delivery.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and ensure commercial compliance.
